11 May ESPACIO MARZANA
Espacio Marzana was inaugurated in November 2002 in Bilbao and is run by Jesús Uranga and Roberto Atance. It is located on the Marzana pier, close to the Bilbao Arte contemporary art centre. In the same year it was awarded first prize in Bilbao City Council’s New Ventures competition.
Since the beginning, Espacio Marzana has focused its programme on the promotion of emerging new artistic proposals, without forgetting established artists.
This course of action has allowed gallery artists to be represented in museum collections such as Artium in Vitoria, the Ordóñez-Falcón Foundation, the Fine Arts Museum in Bilbao and in different private collections.
Espacio Marzana was expressly invited to participate in Dfoto 2005 as an emerging gallery.
