26 Apr Fog Sculpture
Fujiko Nakaya has been experimenting with the ephemeral quality and artistic potential of water and fog installations since the seventies, creating outdoor works of art. The initial development of her fog installations was made possible by Experiments in Art and Technology, a New York-based organisation for promoting artistic and technological collaborations founded by artist Robert Rauschenberg and engineer Billy Kluver.
Her Fog Sculpture # 08025 (F.O.G.), 1998, specially commissioned for the pond area to the rear of the Museum building, is an atmospheric sculpture shapedinstantaneously by the environment in which it is created.
