Meeting Place IV

Eduardo Chillida Square, close to the Fine Arts Museum
Eduardo Chillida
1973

The sculpture is made from concrete. It weighs 16 tons and imposes a biomorphic energy and plastic simplicity on its surroundings. It has been said that the reinforced concrete of this meeting point is an expression of the coexistence between the individual and society and their earthly burdens. It was donated in 1982 and, having originally been displayed inside, has been outside since 2000.
