SALA REKALDE ART GALLERY
The Sala Rekalde art gallery is a space dedicated to taking a closer look at how the different practices within contemporary art are understood, received and disseminated. Since its inauguration in 1991, its development has been linked to research into contemporary art produced in Spain and abroad through initiatives that reflect the debates that are the focus of art today.
Rekalde sees itself as an environment in which it is possible to draw together all the key aspects related to the meaning of artistic production, the various ways in which art is presented and represented, and its ability to enter into dialogue with different audiences. Rekalde is structurally divided into two spaces, allowing it to work at different speeds and explore different work formats in depth. These include exhibitions, specific projects presenting a particular work, discussion sessions, video screenings, conferences and publications. Rekalde aims to be a “space” open to anyone who wants to take part in an open debate about the different cultural languages. Essentially, Rekalde presents itself as a learning platform for contemporary artistic practice.
