“Tulips” is a huge polychrome structure in transparent colour-coated high chromium stainless steel. It represents a bouquet of seven tulips measuring approximately five metres, forming an artwork of 203 x 460 x 520 cm.

The “Tulips” are conceived as large luminescent coloured balloons, transmitting a sense of weightlessness that contrasts with the heavy material used in the construction, increasing the irony of the piece. Its artificial aspect perfectly captures the theme that Jeff Koons embraced in his “Celebration” series and in other sculptures such as “Balloon Dog” and “Moon”.
